My First Visit
Your first visit to Townsend Chiropractic will give you an opportunity to find out if chiropractic care can help you. You will receive a thorough case history and examination to make sure that your condition can be helped through the natural healing of chiropractic adjustments. As a doctor of chiropractic, Dr. Jeanna Townsend believes in natural healing, including chiropractic treatments, rehabilitation, therapy, and nutrition.
Upon entering our office, our receptionist will welcome you as a member of our family. We will request that you complete our patient forms. This paperwork provides us with your health history and information on your condition. Next, you will have a consultation with Dr. Jeanna Townsend to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, and potential treatment options. This initial visit is designed for Dr. Jeanna Townsend to learn more about you, your condition, and expectations to determine how chiropractic care can meet your goals.
After your consultation, Dr. Townsend will perform a complete chiropractic examination. Standard neurological, orthopedic, postural, and physical tests will be performed. In most cases, you will remain in your street clothes - NO EMBARRASSING PATIENT GOWNS!!
Depending on your specific condition, we may take X-rays as well. X-rays help us develop the most effective treatment plan for you, and alert us of any serious spinal conditions. Most people are amazed once they see their X-rays up close. In some cases, they can even identify their misalignments and degeneration themselves.
Dr. Townsend will now need time to study your x-rays and correlate all of the information gathered during this visit, so she can determine what is wrong, what needs to be done, and answer all of your questions. If your first visit is scheduled during our morning hours, Dr. Townsend may suggest returning later in the afternoon for your second visit. If this is not possible, Dr. Townsend may administer a relief treatment (usually very gentle stretching) and will give you instructions for home care until your second visit.
